13 - yep more than likely. I always thought our best shot was the Europa, being a bit of an unknown quantity in Europe. Domestically we’ve been sussed out, as last night proved.

Soucek was a standard sub, not concussion, according to the commentary.
That Saints goal moved a lot and was struck with real power. Hard to say if Areola should have saved it. Similar to the ‘worldie’ he was beaten by vs Zagreb - maybe he’s got a weakness against distance shots that move across him?

What fucking irritates me is we changed the system due to the fact we had no recognised LB, FFS why no left back from the youth team ?
Times I've watched Longello he looked decent, why not play him ?
Moyes and his tactics are bewildering at times

I was directly behind the goal and as soon as he hit the shot it looked in. Partly because Areola didn’t seem to be in middle of the goal.
He must have had a clear view of it.

I said the same thing last night. It went in directly in my line of sight. It was hit well but Areola look liked he was diving for a different ball.
All he had to do was stand on his tip toes and put his hands up and he could've pushed it over.
Poor goalkeeping.

I was querying Areola for that goal.
I know the bloke whacked it with minimum backlift but it wasn't a top corner job.
He seemed slow to react and had no spring in his leap.
As you said his hands , arms seemed all over the place.
It needed a strong right hand to tip it over.
For a 6 foot 5 bloke I think he should have done better.
Not sure if him or Johnstone would be a better option next year.

What does everyone think of Areola in goal?
It seemed weird that he didnt get anything on a shot from range that wasn't in the corner or anything. Its like he literally misjudged where his hand should be.
Is he really a 120 bags a week keeper??

Crossed hammers no it's about having a strong squad that can be rotated not a team A and B. Not having that is down to Moyes.

Was at game so not sure if Soucek was a concussion sub?
I assume not as we were never going to make 6 changes with our bench.
Also if concussion I think that would mean he has to sit out a period of time?

You have hit the nail on the head regarding Rice. He got us out of the shit in the last round but last night proved to be one step too far.
His recent interview with Neville was a strong indication that he will soon be on his bike and you really can't blame him. He's a fantastic player with ambitions that unfortunately our club is far from matching. Good luck to the lad.
